Beautiful bedroom, great options such as streaming from your phone to the tv, an iPad to quickly and easily access restaurant information, building information and reception. Staff were lovely to deal with and very prompt with requests. Restaurant was exceptional, divine food and drink options. It was my partners birthday and they had some delicious patisseries and a lovely birthday card in the room on arrival which was truly generous and thoughtful. Location was perfect, short walk to the city, all while having a quiet peaceful room. We were staying there over Anzac Day and we didn’t hear the cannon or the pipe band from our room.

The staff are exceptional, they absolutely stand out for customer service. Nothing was ever a problem. Their professionalism and friendly welcoming demeanor are second to none, an absolute credit to the hotel. My room was the classic, I was generously offered an upgrade but I declined, my room was cozy enough, which I prefer, Bed was super comfy, facilities very clean, and I'm a very fussy traveller, so was most impressed. The big breakfast I highly recommend, delish! I have to give a mention to the original elevator, I absolutely love that they've kept it and It's still in service, was a highlight!

The property was, as stated, within walking distance to the Octagon and many restaurants and cafes. It is a beautiful hotel and the room was stately and well-appointed. The bed was very comfortable. The property is near the harbour, and close to the road leading to the Peninsula. Well placed for our travel needs. Staff was professional and matter of fact. The welcome tea was a nice touch. Parking was available on the street and is free between 6 pm - 9 am the following morning. The photos posted in the listing represent the rooms and property well.

Hotel was very easy to locate - not a lot of available space to park the car while checking in. Was excellently located close to everything we wished to access. Dunedin is a very walkable city and the concierge and front desk staff were able to assist with all our enquiries, store luggage and arrange transport to the airport. Bar staff were fabulous. The room was a little on the small side, but totally adequate for our needs. If you stay here, you must use the 'old' elevator at least once, just for the experience.

Location, staff, service, and nice breakfast. We stayed during the Christmas day, the restaurant was closed and we had the dinner buffet instead.. food was average. The breakfast at the restaurant press club was exceptional. The bed was comfy but the shower wasn't.. the water pressure is small and I felt cold during the shower. Our room was at the street facing, it wasn't too bad during Christmas as it was quiet, not sure if it would be noisy during normal days.
